The leader ranks:

Holy Sword: Guild Master
Holy Blade: Officers
Sword: Class Leaders

The following ranks are determined by attendance rating (based on the past 30 days of raiding):

Blade: greater than or equal to 80% attendance (>=80%)
Knife: less than 80% but greater than or equal to 60% attendance (>=60%)
Scalpel: less than 60% but greater than 40% attendance (>=40%)
Spork: less than 40% attendance (<40%)

Other ranks:
Chopstick: This rank is used for some alts of ED members.

Spoon: This rank is for applicants in their one month observation period before being considered for promotion to the attendance ranks. The class leader approves the promotion. Among the factors that may extend the evaluation period are extended absence or attitude/skill concerns.

Ranks apply primarily to two things: crafting recipes and raid invites.

Epic recipe drops that create BoE items are restricted to rolls from those with Knife level or better attendance. This helps ensure that they'll be moderately available to craft the item.

When we're forming a raid, after meeting the class balance needs of the raid, we use ranks to determine which players will start on the waitlist. When two characters of the same role are in contention for a spot in the raid, we normally ask the person with the lower to rank to sit out. We also track attendance percentages for all of the leadership ranks in the 'officer note'. Unless they're needed to lead the raid in some capacity, we will sit officers or other leaders if their attendance is surpassed by the attendance of a regular member.

As long as the needs of the raid are met, established class/role rotations supersede rank. This means for example that tank rotations and holy paladin rotations are considered before ranks for invites within the appropriate roles/class specs. (A big 'Thank you!' to all of you that have set up and agreed to a rotation.) We will still consider the needs of the raid before any other system however, e.g. raids should have .

You may be wondering how you will ever get into a raid, if you aren't able to join a raid in the first place to raise your attendance. Well, attendance credit is given out to anyone who gets onto the waitlist for the raid within the first half hour of scheduled raid time. If you log on after the raid has started, but before the 7:30 cutoff, the easiest way to ensure that you get attendance credit is to whisper the invite keyword to a leader and join the raid briefly, and then leave immediately after to avoid disrupting things. (Our attendance tracking add-ons will pick you up.) So typically this means that if you get on the waitlist by 7:30 and whisper into the raid, you're getting full attendance credit.

It's no longer required that you have your main parked outside of the relevant instance, but it can help to keep things running smoothly for the raid if you're called up. If you're not readily available to join the raid, you may lose your spot (and credit) to someone who is ready, depending on how much of a hurry the raid is in. You're free to play an alt during this time, so long as we can locate you quickly in chat or on Discord. This is what people on the waitlist will typically do.

The on-time bonus and cut-off time for raid invites is currently 6:50 PM server time.

I changed some of the wording to clarify the point that, if you're logging on a little late, but before the 7:30 attendance cutoff, you'll need to take special measures to get attendance credit. While you could just whisper me and I would manually add you to the tracker (which is what I had suggested before), the simplest thing is to whisper the invite keyword to someone with invite powers for an auto-invite to the raid. Join the raid and then immediately leave it to avoid causing any disruptions. Joining the raid briefly will register you for attendance for the night. Don't forget to whisper the standby person afterwards for EPGP credit!
